Privacy policy
Short version: we don’t ask who you are, the calculator runs in your browser, and we measure visits with Cloudflare and Google Analytics.

What you type
Ages, birthdays, breeds, sizes, and names are used in your browser to show a result. They are not sent to us as form data, and they are not sent to analytics. There is no account.
If you add a name to a share link, that name becomes part of the link’s address. Anyone you send the link to can see it. When the link is opened, the full address can appear in server logs. Do not put a person’s name, phone number, or address in the name field. What a shared result means, and what it does not mean, is in the disclaimer.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. The site is served through Cloudflare, which can inject a small script (a beacon) so Cloudflare can measure visits. We also load Google Analytics. It uses cookies to measure visits. Ages, birthdays, breeds, sizes, and names you type are not sent as their own events. Opening a calculator, changing the method, or copying a share link is not reported as its own event. Google describes that data in its privacy policy.
For that measurement, Cloudflare says:
- It does not use cookies, local storage, or similar storage in your browser.
- It does not track you across other websites, and it does not build a profile for advertising.
- It does not fingerprint you from your IP address or browser for the purpose of showing analytics. The beacon receives an IP address as part of a normal request, then discards it at the nearest Cloudflare data center. The analytics product does not store that IP address.
- It does not log query strings. A pet name in a share link is therefore not recorded in Web Analytics.
- A “visit” is a page view that starts from a distinct arrival or navigation. It is not a record of you as a person over time.
The reports we can see are aggregate: page views, those visits, the page path, the referring site, country, browser, operating system, device type, and how fast the page loaded, including Core Web Vitals. The beacon may be processed in a Cloudflare data center outside your country. Unsampled beacon data is kept for about seven days and then stored in aggregated form. Hosting and security logs
Serving the site through Cloudflare, and storing it on our host, means those providers receive each request in order to deliver the page and to defend it. Their operational logs can include an IP address, the time, and the page address. Those logs are separate from Web Analytics. They are used to run and protect the site, not to build an advertising profile of you.
Advertising
We may show ads from Google AdSense. Until that is turned on, we do not set advertising cookies. When it is turned on, Google may use cookies and similar technology to serve and measure ads, including on other sites. Before we do that for visitors in regions that require a choice, we will add a consent banner and update this page. Google describes its own practices in the Google privacy policy.
Cookies
The calculator does not need a cookie. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies. Google Analytics does: it sets cookies to measure visits. Advertising cookies are separate, and we add those only after the consent step above where the law requires one.
Children
The site is general information for pet owners. We do not ask for anyone’s name or age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Do not put a child’s name in a share link.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
